What the NWS Data Shows
A supercell thunderstorm moved extremely slowly (10-15 mph) across northern Hamilton County from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, producing hail from 1.25 to 1.75 inches.
The slow movement resulted in 15-20 minutes of continuous large hail in the worst-hit areas, with some homeowners reporting hail drifts of 3-4 inches in gutters.
West Carmel near Spring Mill Road and 131st Street received the largest hail, with numerous reports of ping pong ball to golf ball sized impacts.

What to Check, and What to Watch Out For
Slow-moving storms create higher damage density because roofs receive repeated impacts in the same spots rather than a single pass.
Check for hail accumulation patterns in gutters and low spots. This indicates heavy, sustained impact and increases likelihood of deck penetration.
Insurance adjusters report this storm had one of the highest claim-to-home ratios in years. If your neighborhood was hit, inspection is strongly recommended.
