What the NWS Data Shows

A series of supercell thunderstorms produced some of the largest hail Indianapolis has seen in over a decade, with hail up to 2.5 inches (baseball size) in Carmel.

The most intense storm affected northwestern Marion County and southern Hamilton County, moving slowly and producing repeated hail impacts.

Some areas reported hail drifts up to 6 inches deep, with the weight of accumulated ice damaging gutters and causing deck stress on older homes.

Counties under warnings: Marion, Hamilton, Hendricks, Johnson. See live reports on the storm map.
